Jess works as an advocate and change maker by empowering people to heal and nourish their nervous systems in order to simultaneously develop both strength and sensitivity in individuals and communities. A yoga practitioner since 2004, she now teaches classes in the Bishnu Charan Ghosh lineage as well as yin style. She is an alumni of Portland State University and Portland Community College, where she completed her undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Indigenous Nations Studies, and a focus award in Women and Gender Studies. Her culmination of experience in these areas has fostered a deep reverence for diversity, sovereignty, grief, compassion, and humor that she intends to utilize for the powerful, multifaceted healing work happening at Brown Hope.
